The perforated bowl-shaped pessary medical device has a disc-shaped form and is indicated for mild forms of pelvic relaxation and prolapse. Unlike the classic ring, this model is capable of providing greater support. As a matter of fact, in patients with cystocele, this type of pessary provides both medial and lateral support. It is also used in the rehabilitation of patients with vaginal vault prolapse, following hysterectomy and in combination with pelvic floor therapy. For best results, it should only be used in cases where the pelvic floor is sufficiently intact.
